POI : An acronym for Point Of Interface (pronounced: poh' - ey - An Industrial Control term) - All software components and elements required to interact with the target device or component. These include graphics, browser components, server engine elements as well as embedded configuration settings specific to the target devices and components.

POIs do not require any special software to run - in fact they are dynamically loaded into your browser from the ALEXIS™ and ©DMS servers when you want them. This means that any PC - Apple™ - MSFT™ - Linux™ - Sun™ or any other derivative of operating system immediately becomes an automatic interface device for the entire system. Drop in a few wireless touch capable Tablet PCs onto your LAN (Local Area Network) and you have instant
wireless touch panels! No more prorietary panels or LCDs to contend with - no complicated software to learn - and no special cabling.

To make the Team ACX™ solution even more irresistible for integrators is the Spyder™. Developed to address and eliminate the mundane and repetitive tasks of network administration this unique and extraordinarily powerful engine automatically configures everything within the Team ACX™ servers for your local area network. What does this mean for integrators? A 100% automated network installation - no configuration, editing or wizards to contend with - everything is ready as soon as the Team ACX™ server becomes "network aware".

Team ACX - Created by Integrators, For Integrators

ALX-G1: The ©ALX-G1 RCIS (Remote Control Intranet Server) is designed specifically to provide connect and play command and control of select components for multi-room audio systems. The convenience and ease of use of the ALX-G1 server is only surpassed by its intuitive ergonomics and realistic, engaging GUI (Graphical User Interfaces). But the most intriguing aspect of this extraordinary system is where all this inutuitve interaction takes place. In a garden variety browser on any operating system from any computer on your LAN (Local Area network).

FireFox is one of the very best - versions for Apple™,Linux and Microsoft™ - this browser is the direct descendant of Mozilla and is used here at the ACX™ Lab on all our computers. Follow the FireFox link below for OSX versions.

Flock

A relative newcomer this browser is based on the same rock solid tech that Mozilla and Netscape were built upon. We use this browser a lot and recommend it to all our Alpha Beta clients.

Internet Explorer™

IE™ has new features and capabilities that are worth the install - the most widely used browser world wide. Peformance behavior and especially security has enormously improved on this latest release.

Netscape Navigator

Netscape™ - the browser that started it all and still around to brag about it - still a favorite amongst the ACX™ crew.

For MAC & Irix users:

Camino

A very robust and rock solid browser for MAC users - works every time, all the time. We use this and FireFox almost exclusively on all our Apple test machines at the ACX™ Lab.

FireFox for MAC

We included a link to the FireFox / Mozilla for MAC site - be sure to explore this site and follow the instructions for down loading and installing this awesome browser on your MAC. It is well worth the effort for any MAC user.
